Bishop Auckland lies in the Upper Wear Valley and is the gateway to the North Pennines. There are many site-seeing, rambling, historical and archeological experiences to be had in the area.

Bishop Auckland Rugby Club is located half a mile from the town centre amongst greenery and the picturesque river wear. The town centre offers shops, bars, restaurants, salons and supermarkets and local tourist attractions, including the UK’s most spectacular open-air live show, Kynren – an epic tale of England. Bishop Auckland is also home to Auckland Castle, The castle and its park are at the centre of a wider sacred Christian landscape which is believed to be 1500 years old. They are one of the most important and best-preserved medieval bishops' palaces in all Europe.

There are camping facilities available at the club which include hard standing and grassed areas for tents and caravans, a fully licensed club house which is open every evening, toilets and showers, rubbish disposal, chemical toilet disposal point, electric hookups and running water.

The camping site is also popular for rallies and club tours including scooter and motorbike festivals.
